Murfreesboro, Tennessee

You will not have to stand still and smile.

I will give you something to do instead. The good one lands about two seconds later, while you are still laughing at whoever said something, and that is the photo you end up printing.

Families, couples, seniors, weddings and branding. Sessions start at $80.

Most people tell me they hate having their picture taken.

They usually mean the standing part. Being arranged into a shape, holding it, and waiting to be told it is over. That is the part that makes everyone look like they are being processed rather than photographed.

So I run sessions on movement. Real life photos are where it is at, and you do not have to be in the most perfect outfit for them to be good.

Two ways to do this

You keep putting this off because it sounds like a whole production.

It can be twenty-five minutes on a Tuesday. Every family, couples and senior session comes both ways, and the short one is a real session with a real gallery.

Short Film

The quick one

Twenty-five minutes on a Tuesday and you are home before dinner is cold. Short enough that you stop putting it off, long enough for a gallery you will actually use.

  • Family$125
  • Couples$100
  • Seniors and individuals$80
02

Documentary

The unhurried one

An hour, so the first ten awkward minutes can happen and it does not matter. Everything good comes after everyone forgets I am there, and that takes a little while.

  • Family$175
  • Couples$150
  • Seniors and individuals$120

Plus proposals, groups, branding and events. All ten sessions and what each one includes.

How a session actually goes

The hardest part is sending the first message.

  1. 01

You do not need a plan, a color scheme, or a Pinterest board

Send me the people and the month. Having no idea what you want is the normal amount of idea to have, and sorting that out is my job.

  2. 02

I already know where to be at seven in the evening

Which field looks like that in June, where the light lands in Franklin, which spot is quiet on a Saturday. You do not have to go scouting.

  3. 03

Nobody is going to ask you to hold a pose

Walk over here. Tell him that story again. Pick her up. You will spend the session doing things, and I will be somewhere off to the side.

  4. 04

You get more of them than you know what to do with

Twenty-five images at the very least, seventy on the longer sessions, in color and again in black and white. Proposals get a preview the same night.

Where I shoot

I know which fields look like that in June.

Everything on this site was photographed within an easy drive of Murfreesboro. Knowing where to be at seven in the evening is most of the job.
